About Us

In 1992, a resource-based, relative value scale (RBRVS) fee schedule replaced the reasonable charge system of payment for physician services furnished to Medicare beneficiaries. The main element of the fee schedule is a relative value scale, which is comprised of three components: physician work or time, physician practice expenses, and professional liability insurance.

In recent years, the relative value scale has become the industry standard for contract negotiations.  As more and more insurance carriers use this scale as the basis for reimbursement, the more crucial it becomes for medical practices to use RVU calculations as their job costing method.

RVU Assistant was created by a health care professional who realized that most practices do not use any method of job costing because they are too difficult and time consuming.  By not having the basic cost per procedure at their fingertips, these practices constantly run the risk of committing to unprofitable contracts and making poor business decisions.

The RVU Assistant software streamlines the job costing process so that every medical practice can have accurate data available for their insurance contract negotiations and other business decisions.
